RED

Red is now rehabilitated, and is available for adoption. He will require someone who will allow him the time to transition back to riding and being a partner, simply due to lack of conditioning. His personality will soon make him your new best friend. His adoption fee is $ 600, and his new home will be carefully screened so that he never is hungry again.

Red is a second time resident at Horse Feathers, although not by choice. He was originally seized as part of a felony cruelty case in 2007. He was rehabilitated, evaluated, and doing well. However in late 2008 the court ordered that custody of 3 of the 5 seized horses be restored to the owner from which they were seized. The system let Red down badly. We were asked to come pick up a horse from a neglect case on February 25 2011. The lone horse in the pen that remained alive was Red. He remembered us, and was glad to come home. He received emergency treatment here at the rescue, and is underwent refeeding to regain his weight.
