Nicki Smith

Smith has been in love with horses since she was first put upon one at age 4. She took lessons (mostly hunt seat and hunter/jumper) at various times throughout her life but never owned her own horse until 1993 when she bought my first horse - an American Saddlebred mare. Smith showed her, first in English Country Pleasure and then in Western Pleasure for 8 years. The two went to a world championship title in ASB Western Country Pleasure in 2000. Since then she's acquired another Saddlebred gelding and a Morgan gelding, who she shows in Western Pleasure. When not riding horses, Smith is a captain in the Edmond, Okla., Police Department.

Christy Swanson

My family owned horses for as long as I can remember. I think I was probably riding on a shetland pony before I was walking. I grew up around horses and have always had a great love for them. I was without horses for about 13 years when I moved to the city, but fortunately I got to move out of the city and back to the country. I now have 3 horses, 1 donkey, 1 longhorn and 3 dogs that I wouldn't trade for the world. I currently work for the Bureau of Prisons and have been there for 10 years.
